According to the Sri Lankan health department, the second case of monkeypox has been identified today (09).
The infected individual arrived from Dubai and he has been sent for treatment, the health department said.
Meanwhile, 1st of November, a 20-year-old Sri Lankan came from Dubai was reported to be the country’s first monkeypox infected person.
The man had come to the National STD Clinic for treatment due to other symptoms including enlarged lymph nodes and fatigue.
Person was admitted to the IDH Fever Hospital in Colombo for treatment.
