Sri Lankan batsman Dhanushka Gunathilaka was arrested by the Australian Police yesterday (06) around 01 am in relation to a complaint filed by a 29-year-old girl resident of Rose Bay, East of Sydney, regarding a sexual assault.

The girl filed a complaint alleging that she met Dhanushka Gunathilaka through an online dating app and that he sexually assaulted her at her Rose Bay home.

The New South Wales State Police, which is conducting investigations into the incident, stated that the complainant has also alleged that the suspect, Dhanushka Gunathilaka, assaulted her on several occasions.

When the case was called before Downing Center District Court Magistrate Robert William, Dhanushka’s lawyer, Mr. Ananda Amarnath, requested bail on his behalf.
